Bereavement Macclesfield 1Bereavement can be a terrible blow. If you live in Macclesfield or the surrounding areas, then the Macclesfield Bereavement Support Service can help by providing support. The death of a loved one leaves an irreplaceable void that can be hard to deal with alone. Irrespective of age or relationship to the deceased and the pain of the loss can seem unbearable.

If you or someone you know have recently suffered a bereavement

Bereavement Macclesfield 2People react differently to bereavement, and for some the unbearable pain can continue for months or even years. Nothing seems to help, and after the initial shock of the death and funeral have subsided, the sense of loss intensifies. Most people seek support from family and friends, or they may visit their GP. However, this might not be enough, and as time goes by, a different kind of support may be required. This is where a bereavement support worker may help.

Experience shows that bereavement counselling or support is unlikely to be effective in the weeks immediately following a bereavement so please recognise we are not an emergency or crisis response service. However we do aim to offer support within a few months of the initial contact.  The process will be explained in the initial telephone conversation.

Further information on bereavement can be found on the websites listed in the right hand sidebar and the material in our resources page.
